José Leal is Criminal Investigation Coordinator and Director of the Criminal Intelligence Unit of the Polícia Judiciária (Portuguese Criminal Police). A sociologist with a PhD in Criminology, he works in the fields of criminal investigation and strategic crime analysis.
He has authored numerous scientific and technical works on criminal investigation, organised crime, developmental criminology, and crime and gender, among other criminological topics.
