The Judiciary Tech Summit Lisbon ‘26 is a meeting point for judges and prosecutors, academics, regulators, students and technology companies. International comparison, hands-on experimentation and dialogue between different sectors are among its main contributions to the debate on the future of justice.
The Summit also takes a hands-on approach. The AI Moot Court shows, in a simulated setting, how artificial intelligence tools can be used throughout a trial and the challenges and questions they raise. The masterclasses, in turn, offer closer contact with experts on a wide range of topics related to emerging technologies, research and good practice in judicial innovation.
The presence of companies from the innovation and technology sectors, through a dedicated exhibition area, brings these sectors closer to judicial and academic institutions and creates opportunities for new partnerships. Student presentations, together with awards, give visibility to a new generation of legal professionals interested in these issues.
This initiative is the result of a partnership between the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (FDUL) and the High Council for the Judiciary (CSM), in collaboration with the National Centre for Legal Innovation (CNIJ) and AI Lab by FDUL. The Summit aims to contribute to an informed and shared reflection on how technology can serve justice, while respecting judicial independence, procedural safeguards and fundamental rights.
